Call for Projects: 2013

Cluster is Winnipeg’s most dynamic take on contemporary art and sound. Revolving around an annual core festival that takes place in Winnipeg, Manitoba in March, Cluster is a platform for artists to create, experiment, and collaborate.

Cluster Festival is currently accepting submission proposals for the 2013 Cluster: New Music + Integrated Arts Festival (March 2013 in Winnipeg, MB). Although Cluster’s programming has a strong focus on sound, proposals from all discplines (including multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary projects) are welcome.

Guidelines

Submissions will be juried based on the vision and artistic integrity of the work. Please indicate in the proposal if you are interested in multidisciplinary collaboration, and if so artists you would like to collaborate with if applicable.

Please limit submissions to works of 60 minutes or less (not applicable for installations or non temporal-based art forms). Proposed projects or works may be finished, or in-progress.

Ensembles are welcome to submit half concert programs, as well as possible commissions or collaborations.

Deadline: June 1, 2012

How to Submit

Please follow the instructions below carefully before you submit your project, and do not provide additional information or files. 

All submissions should include:

• Project proposal (600 words maximum) – provide as many details as you can.
• Artist(s) CV
• Biography (200 words maximum)
- – Relevant supporting materials (audio, video, photos, musical scores, writing samples etc.)
• The following digital file formats are preferred:
  Documents: PDF
  Images: jpg (less than 1mb each)
  Excerpt video files: SD Quicktime (NTSC or PAL), DVD NTSC (Region code 0) or a links for
online videos. Files extensions: .mov or .avi (maximum 30 MB each)
  Sound files: HQ MP3 or AIFF
  Interactive files: Flash .swf

For larger files, please use Dropbox, yousendit, or a similar service (please clearly indicate if you will be sharing files this way).
Successful applicants will be informed no later than August 1st, 2012

Cluster will collaborate with successful applicants to ensure that appropriate funding is found to finance projects through grants, residencies, and travel allocations. Please note, Cluster is unable to cover travel fees for international artists.
